P-3 Aircraft Electrician

Description:P-3 Aircraft Electrician Candidate shall possess expertise to include, but not limited to maintain electro-hydraulic or electro-mechanical assemblies, Engine Instruments Display System; Digital Fuel Quantity and Digital Auto Pilot systems of the P-3 or fixed wing aircraft systems. In general, the work of the aviation maintenance electrician requires working knowledge and experience acquired through a combination of formal training and maintenance experience. Common assigned task involves installing or repairing electrical wiring harnesses or any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, circuit breakers, control panels, load center / relays, or other equipment associated with aircraft systems functionality. Additionally, operating support equipment, using of specific designed test equipment and operating aircraft systems to include auxiliary power units. Work could involve use of provided PPE while working on top of aircraft and in closed, confined spaces such as wing tanks. This candidate also applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints, schematics, or manufacturers’ manuals and specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to the load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician’s hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. Work also involves other tasks as deemed necessary.

Work location is Corpus Christi, TX and deployed locations both CONUS and International.


Additional Requirements:
• Physical ability to become respirator qualified and work in confined spaces
• Employment is dependent upon successful background, security, and drug screen.
• Additionally, obtaining and maintaining a DOD Secret clearance and successful completion of a Department of Homeland Security Background Investigation is a condition of continued employment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license and to be licensed for and operate appropriate Ground Support Equipment
• Ability and willingness to work any assigned shift including days, nights, weekends and overtime as needed.
• Employee uses personally owned hand tools; customer provided tools requiring calibration and specialized test equipment.
*Applicant must be willing to travel national and international; if required.
• Must be a US Citizen.
Basic Qualifications:
5 years operational and maintenance experience to include, but not limited to maintain electro-hydraulic or electro-mechanical assemblies such as Engine Instruments Display System; Digital Fuel Quantity and Digital Auto Pilot systems of the P-3 or fixed wing aircraft systems.
Desired Skills:
- Applicants should have the ability to perform a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, fault isolation, maintenance, and repair of wiring and/or connectors, equipment for: generation, distribution, or utilization of aircraft systems electrical power.
- Applicant should also be thoroughly familiar with the maintenance requirement cards and familiar with the ISIS requirements for P-3 type aircraft. Applicants should have mastered the skills of installing or repairing electrical wiring harnesses, interpreting technical data such as blueprints, schematics, or manufacturers’ manuals and specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical systems, Digital Fuel Quantity, Digital Auto Pilot systems, electro-hydraulic or electro-mechanical assemblies and Engine Instruments Display System systems of the P-3 or fixed wing aircraft systems.
- Ideal Applicant would have operational and maintenance experience on large, multi-engine, turboprop (P-3 type) aircraft. Ability to troubleshoot, isolate problems and repair all P-3 aircraft mechanical, electrical, engine and propeller systems excluding avionics.
- P-3 engine turn qualification.
