Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems' MIC2 team is looking for a qualified technical leader to serve as the U.S.-based Chief Engineer for the EADGE-T Technical Refresh program.
EADGE-T is modernizing its compute and infrastructure environment to pave the way for future enhancements, enabling deployment of modular solutions and AI capabilities for the United Arab Emirates Integrated Air Missile Defense capability.
The Technical Refresh effort focuses on hardware upgrades and foundational cyber security enhancements. Join a team that is actively designing and developing next-generation capabilities while working directly with an international customer to deliver mission-critical solutions.
THE WORK
As the Chief Engineer, you will own the technical baseline of the system and provide technical leadership across systems engineering, software, integration, infrastructure, and cyber activities for a complex system of systems. You will ensure the appropriate engineering rigor, processes, and technical discipline are applied throughout program execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish system architecture and CONOPS, perform system trades and analysis, flow down the architecture and CONOPS into requirements and interfaces, and support verification planning.
- Ensure the logical and detailed conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions.
- Drive the development and verification of system requirements.
- Effectively communicate technical decisions and challenges to program, subcontractor, customer management, and executive leadership.
- Participate in developing and executing critical development program reviews, including System Design Reviews (SDR), software demonstrations, and formal customer reviews.
- Drive system performance, integration, and test activities, culminating in final system certification across multiple customer sites.
- Travel regularly to the United Arab Emirates to support customer engagement, program execution, and technical collaboration.

PLEASE NOTE
- This position requires a government security clearance at the Secret level; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
- This position is based in the United States but requires regular extended travel to the United Arab Emirates to support customer engagement, program execution, and relationship building.
- Additional travel to customer sites throughout the UAE is required as well as test event support
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
+12 years of technical leadership including significant experience in design, integration, test and/or operations of a C2 or IAMD program.
Prior Engineering Leadership position with experience leading execution of complex development programs and demonstration of driving technical issues/challenges to closure.
Experience working with mission CONOPS and how it evolves into the design reference mission (DRM), day in the life (DITL), or equivalent method of defining mission operations
Extensive experience leading teams in generation of technical products with the ability to prioritize competing requirements and customer objectives
Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and risk management abilities.
An energetic, self-starter personality and attitude, with the desire to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated team player and proven success working in cross-functional teams with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships
Demonstrated experience successfully leading engineering teams and programs through effective use of change control boards (ERB, CCB)
Ability to travel to and within the UAE to customer sites

Demonstrated success in early program development and transitioning into execution and delivery
Strong technical initiative with the ability to work in a fast-paced, synergetic team environment
Ability to lead multi-functional, multi-site teams to communicate and coordinate work as one team with common goals

Experience shaping Customer expectations and perceptions in a competitive proposal environment
Recognized as an authority in systems thinking techniques with the demonstrated ability to apply them to a wide range of sophisticated problems and train others in their application

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $164,300 - $289,800. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
