What We’re Doing
Our Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Regional team, is constantly engineering, developing and integrating new capabilities for the U.S. Missile Defense System. protecting both the United States and its allies. This large, fast paced team, is composed of many small agile teams working together dynamic environment with a common mission to develop and deploy leading-edge missile defense technologies.
The Work
The C2BMC-Regional Application Agile Release Train is seeking a software release manager that will thrive in a fast paced team environment in the design, development, and testing of the C2BMC applications. The Release Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the successful deployment of software releases, patches, and hotfixes for the C2BMC Regional Apps Software Team. This position supports a large, globally deployed software system used by the Department of Defense, with different combatant commands deploying different versions of the software baseline. The Release Manager will be responsible for coordinating with developers, product owners, and engineering managers to ensure that all software releases are properly planned, executed, and documented.
Common responsibilities of a release manager on the RA ART team include:
• Design and develop new Java applications; Maintain existing Java applications
• Support software testing and resolution of issues from multiple baselines
• Ensure that all software releases, patches, and hotfixes are properly planned, executed, and documented, with accurate tracking of changes and updates to the various software branches.
• Coordinate with developers, product owners, and engineering managers to ensure that all software releases meet completion and artifact recording timelines.
• Manage multiple processes and documents, serving as the primary point of contact between the Regional Apps Agile Release Train (ART) and other ARTs on the program regarding current / future releases of Regional Apps software.
• Collaborate with key program stakeholders, including Configuration Management (CM), Release Management, and Quality Assurance, to ensure successful release of software artifacts and creation of deployment media.
• Develop, maintain, and present key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics related to the Regional Apps Enterprise.
• Prioritize and manage emergency changes to the software, ensuring timely resolution of operational deficiencies or anomalies that impact customer satisfaction.
• Support Regional Apps PI Planning, ensuring the work needed for future Releases is planned by the development teams.
• Coordinate with other program points of contact to ensure timeliness and completeness of Releases.

Basic Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on release management, configuration management.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, including planning, development, testing, and deployment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to acquire 8140 Certification.
Desired Skills:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- At least 12 years of experience in software development, with a focus on release management, configuration management, or a related field.
- Experience with large, complex software systems, including those used by the Department of Defense.
- Familiarity with C2BMC-specific software deployment processes and procedures.
- Certification in Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master, Agile Certified Practitioner).
- Experience with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with metrics development and reporting, with ability to analyze and present complex data.
- Existing 8140 Certification.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $99,700 - $175,835. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
