This position will provide engineering leadership and management skills to a diverse team. Understanding engineering processes will be required to lead the team. This position will oversee hardware design, configuration, troubleshooting, baseline preservation, maintenance, and all documentation. Other duties include employee selection/recruitment, training, mentoring, time charging review/approval, salary planning, promotion planning, recognition activities and in general, maintaining a rewarding and productive work environment for this team. In addition, you will be expected to engage in the management and development of personnel to include performing candid employee reviews/evaluations.
You will work closely with site leadership, program managers, product owners, and peers; assuming project responsibility for integration and management of product baselines at a customer site.

This is a day-staff position, located at Peterson Space Force Base. After-hours support may be required. This position and the team will require an on-call component for 24/7 emergency support.

Specific tasks include:
• Management of a 7 to 10 person team.
• Technical work will be expected in this position.
• Review interconnects, rack elevations, and design documentation
• Oversee Periodic Maintenance Inspections for lab equipment. Report metrics and completion to program management
• Review and report system Obsolescence data. Provide recommendations for replacement of obsolete components.
• Own, execute, and status program assigned initiatives and projects.
• Coordination with system administration, network engineers, and other functional areas.
• Recruit and hire to develop the proper skill level
• Focus on providing guidance to staff members to meet critical schedules and resolve critical/complex technical or operational problems.
• Perform administrative management duties for engineering staff. This includes timecard approval (timekeeping/overtime authorization), compliance training, promotions, job actions, performance
reviews, awards, and terminations.
• Assist and coordinate with the test team for system integration and test activities.
• Provide status briefings to senior leadership and/or customer.
• Support Ad hoc tasking and stretch assignments as outlined by Program Leaders

This is an MID-SR CAREER (level 4) ROLE where candidates require 9+ years of professional experience and a BS degree or above.

Selected candidate must have a Secret security clearance prior to start.

This position is contingent upon the program award expected in October/November (post shutdown).

Basic Qualifications:
• Leadership experience in design and maintenance hardware and network equipment
• Technical background sufficient to lead a team of engineers through hardware system life cycle and maintenance.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams in dynamic environments.
• Experience with or understanding of system level installs at customer sites.
• Selected candidate must have an Interim Secret security clearance for consideration.
Desired Skills:
• Understanding of System drawings, interconnect drawings, Hardware design drawings)
• Active TS/SCI preferred
• System administration or network experience
• Ability to travel to install sites and lab/test locations
• Experience working with government owned operational systems.
• COMSEC/Crypto experience (KIV, KS-252, e.g.)• Ground Systems integration
• Demonstrated problem solving skills

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
