Airframe Structural Analyst-Associate

Description:The Airframe Structural Analysis Group is responsible for ensuring the structural integrity of the airframe fuselage, landing gear and propulsion installations and all other attachments to airframe fuselage, including electrical, controls and dynamic systems attachments.

Structural integrity responsibilities cover composite and conventional structures and extend from conceptualization on through development, manufacturing and field service support. In fulfilling its function, adherence to the appropriate design criteria and other directives mandated by the customer and or regulatory agencies is strictly maintained.

General functions: Static structural analysis and Margin of Safety determination, fatigue and fracture mechanics analysis of critical interfaces, field support (repair design/analysis), production support, formal analysis documentation. Analytical processes include classical closed form solutions as well as finite element analysis.

Additional functions: Determination of airframe component replacement and / or retirement times, specification and design of airframe related static and fatigue tests, flight test instrumentation & limits. Substantiation and manufacturing support of commercial and military aircraft completions installations required.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college.

Ability to obtain security clearance.
Desired Skills:
Undergrad focus in Mechanics of Materials, Machine Design, or Aerospace Structure Design/Analysis.
Co-op or Intern experience in related technical fields.
Demonstrated leadership in academics, employment or extracurricular activities.
Excel macro programming or scientific programming.
Working proficiency in MS Office Products.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Well developed technical problem solving skills to anticipate next steps.
