Aircraft Interior Designer

Job ID: 538894BR Date posted: Sep. 09, 2020 Locations: Coatesville, Pennsylvania Description:Sikorsky Aircraft is looking for a new industrial designer to complement our team. Their primary task will be to participate in the design concept development and support delivery execution of aircraft interiors and exterior paint schemes for all helicopter mission scenarios including Executive transport, Search/Rescue, Passenger transport and Emergency Medical Service. This work will cross all Sikorsky product models including S92, BlackHawk, and S76. Responsibilities include overall interior arrangement development, cabin seating development, cabin monument development, design development of special features, specification writing, interior renderings, graphic scheme design, exterior renderings, aesthetic development, design language consideration, customer meetings, design review support, proposal support and Completion Center Operations support. The candidate must work with, and cross between, all product platform teams with an emphasis on product line commonality. The candidate must be able to guide mechanical designers to create the faithful execution of the design concepts. The candidate must work with associated engineering attributes such as Airframe Design, Airframe Structures, Mass Properties, Pilots Office, Human Factors, Certification Engineering, Engineering Test and System Safety. The candidate must work with Operations/Supply Chain to insure successful aircraft completion. A solid Industrial Design background is required.
Basic Qualifications:
• A minimum four (4) year college degree in Industrial Design or related field.
• High Proficiency in design sketching and 2D graphic software (Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop)
• High Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering software (Autodesk Alias and Keyshot Preferred)
Desired Skills:
• Formal training in design development, design down select and the design decision making process.
• Advanced knowledge in Human Factors.
• Excellent communication skills in both oral and graphic form.
• Professional, high character, individual.
