Wireless Communication Research Engineer

Description:Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) is looking for a thought leader who can bring deep applied science experience and knowledge to help the DOD and partners build a future using technologies like 5G and Multi-Access edge computing. As a Communication Research Engineer in the Advanced Technology Lab you will work in a fast pace collaborative environment working closely with a team of talented research engineers to bring your ideas to fruition. You will work closely with Lockheed Martin Corporate leadership team to create the future of DOD protected wireless communication systems and seek partnerships for secure communication capabilities.

The Wireless Communication Research Engineer will:
- Plan and execute major programs for premier DOD S&T customers.
- Represent the organization as the single POC/Lead for research activities on contracts and interface with internal and external customers, program and senior leadership, and multidisciplinary engineering teams on significant technical matters.
- Participate in design reviews, test readiness reviews, and element/system level activities
--MUST have the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance. Minimum Secret, TS/SCI Preferred.

Basic Qualifications:
• Wireless communications engineer or systems engineer with wireless communications expertise
• Experience building engineering solutions with Software Defined Radios
• Strong working knowledge of RF and Digital Signal Processing science, engineering, technologies, and techniques
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience leading small multi-discipline teams of engineers and scientists
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Computer Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college, or equivalent experience combined education, with at least 5 years of working experience.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with 4G and/or 5G NR (New Radio) Communication Systems
• Experience writing US Government proposals and/or contracts
• Track Record of successful Research and Development projects in RF Communication Technologies
• A related Masters or PhD degree
• Military operational experience with electronic warfare and spectrum operations systems, techniques, technologies, and capabilities
• Strong familiarity with one or more of the following: machine learning, mission systems and computer architecture designs, cognitive processing, spectrum management, and state of the art signal processing techniques, algorithm development,
