Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking to hire its next enthusiastic and motivated Mechanical Engineering Leader who will lead a team designing, developing, and supporting complex microwave electronics subsystems at our campus in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. The Mechanical Engineering Associate Manager will be expected to develop innovative technical solutions as well as provide leadership to project teams. Define, develop, and lead continuous process improvement activities associated with all aspects of the Mechanical Engineering department. Responsible for balancing priorities of new development efforts along with manufacturing support issues in a dynamic environment. Act as a spokesperson for Mechanical Engineering issues internally and externally to the wider organization. Applicants selected will be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

The Locale: Chelmsford is a charming suburb of Boston located about 25 miles northwest of that city. Chelmsford is very close to historic Lowell Massachusetts and to Nashua, New Hampshire. Chelmsford is within reach of New Hampshire’s White Mountains and awesome ski areas to the north, and the scenic coastal towns of MA and NH are about an hour east. This scenic colonial region offers lots of New England charm, great schools, shopping, and restaurants. Chelmsford and the region share an impressive past from the early days after the pilgrims arrived in Plymouth to the revolutionary war. Where can you get to from Chelmsford? Chelmsford is about 90 minutes from Cape Cod. Boston is about 30 minutes to the east without traffic. New York City is about 4.5 hours away from Chelmsford. Waterville Valley and other major ski resorts of New Hampshire and Vermont are about 2 to 3 hours to the north. It should be noted that Chelmsford, Massachusetts is approximately 35 miles northwest of the Boston metropolitan area and offers better access to a wide range of substantially more affordable regions in the area to live. Those regions include Northeastern and North Central Massachusetts, and Southern, New Hampshire.

Basic Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field, or equivalent combined education / experience.
-The ability to effectively lead Engineering personnel is required.
-Full spectrum leadership attributes are required.
-The ability to inspire innovation and creativity and to create and maintain a positive work environment is required.
-Experience managing cost and schedule and technical aspects of projects.
-Experience with one of these four key technical areas is required: Mechanical Design, Mechanical Analysis (FEA, Structural, Thermal), Manufacturability, or Electronics Packaging.
-Excellent communication and presentation skills are required.
-Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
-Candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance and must obtain at least an interim secret clearance prior to start.
Desired Skills:
-Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar field.
-Experience in leadership of Engineering personnel is desired.
-Proficiency in Product Development Processes.
-Proficiency with electronics packaging layout and design.
-Proficiency with RF/microwave packaging would be a plus.
-Proficiency with environmental testing including thermal, shock and vibration environments.
-Experience in structural and thermal FEA analysis.
-Experience in growing organizational talent through informal coaching and formal performance reviews.
-Experience in design and manufacturing of circuit cards and hybrid/microwave microelectronics.
-Experience in military contracting environment.
-Experience with Creo, ANSYS, Siemen's NX, or Nastran would be a plus.
