Manufacturing Supervisor / Chelmsford, MA

Description:Production Supervisor for manufacturing and test personnel responsible for the assembly, test and delivery of complex hybrid assemblies.
Responsible for coordinating workflow, maximizing throughput and monitoring schedule to ensure deliveries and performance to standards are met on a weekly basis.
Responsible for communication of status and issues to management.
Responsible for driving/achieving quality, schedule and cost targets for the program.
Responsible for the daily activities of a specified group of production employees and for ensuring that safety, cost, quality, and production standards are met with this team.
Provide leadership, support, and daily direction to assemblers and technicians.
Motivates and fosters teamwork to ensure quality and achieve business goals.
Responsible for coordinating and communicating all aspects of production with Product Manager, Program Manager, external program office, and/or customer.
Responsible for communication of status, activities and events to the production team.
Responsible for the ensuring the success of the Performance Management Team (PMT), providing steering support to the PMT to ensure team success.
Ensures the team is led effectively in a way that engages/motivates the team members.
Ensures all monthly tasks are completed through utilization of your team.
Takes active role to ensure issues that impact team performance are resolved.
Responsible for LMCommit Performance Management, including communicating departmental commitments, writing performance assessments, communicating performance results for non-exempt team.
Delivers positive and constructive feedback throughout the year to maintain high team performance.
Responsible for workforce planning continuity delivering on Production Operations initiatives at the tactical level.

This is considered a growth position with broad experience to support Product Operations Management Succession planning. Production supervision gives rapid exposure in a wide variety of skills and builds a foundation for future leadership opportunities. This position offers the opportunity to lead a mid-size team and has a direct impact on team motivation and customer satisfaction through product deliveries.

The Locale: Chelmsford is a charming suburb of Boston located about 25 miles northwest of the city. Chelmsford is very close to historic Lowell Massachusetts and to Nashua, New Hampshire. Chelmsford is within reach of New Hampshire’s White Mountains and awesome ski areas to the north, and the scenic coastal towns of MA and NH are about an hour east. This scenic colonial region offers lots of New England charm, great schools, shopping, and restaurants. Chelmsford and the region share an impressive past from the early days after the pilgrims arrived in Plymouth to the revolutionary war. Where can you get to from Chelmsford? Chelmsford is about 90 minutes from Cape Cod. Boston is about 30 minutes to the east without traffic. New York City is about 4.5 hours away from Chelmsford. Waterville Valley and other major ski resorts of New Hampshire and Vermont are about 2 to 3 hours to the north. It should be noted that Chelmsford, Massachusetts is approximately 35 miles northwest of the Boston metropolitan area and offers better access to a wide range of substantially more affordable regions in the area to live. Those regions include Northeastern and North Central Massachusetts, and Southern, New Hampshire.

Basic Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with non-exempt work force, management and other functions
- Must possess strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Capable of assigning work to non-unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes
- Capable of resolving/facilitating resolution of various production issues, working simultaneously with supporting functional areas: Quality, Process Engineering, Engineering and Supply Chain
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications and other software tools to monitor/report production status and support supervisory responsibilities (Timekeeping, performance management, training, recruiting, PMT presentations, etc.)
- Production experience
- Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors
- Ability to effectively use SAP/APRISO for production applications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/combined education
- Ability to obtain a secret security clearance and must obtain an interim secret prior to start
- Ability to support a flexible work schedule supporting overtime, off-Fridays and/or weekends as required
- Ability to work effectively with urgency and determination, while maintaining Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors

- Able to utilize cost, Quality, and schedule data to review and react to performance trends
- Experience in facilitating the resolution of production issues
- Experience in leading a Performance Management Team (PMT)
- Exposure to LM Six Sigma Principles and Green Belt Certification
- Proficient in manufacturing processes; Quality, Cost and Schedule
- Experience with Lockheed Martin policies, systems, and processes
- Experience working the defense industry or in an ISO9001, AS9100 environment
- Microwave hybrid and/or J-STD solder manufacturing experience
