The Payload Launch Site Support Services (PLSSS) Program, within LM Space, provides launch processing support functions for our government customer. Key elements of the program scope include spacecraft launch preparations, spacecraft transportation operations, and processing O&M. The primary operating location is Vandenberg AFB, CA, with support of other locations also required.
As a member of the team, you will be called upon to perform a variety of design and operational tasks.
Summary of Key Duties for this position:
• You will design, operate, and maintain electrical radio frequency detection and collection systems that support spacecraft transportation and launch pad operations
• You will conduct system performance evaluations and make appropriate recommendations to modify designs or repair equipment as needed
• You will apply knowledge in troubleshooting and proposing solutions for electronics-related issues
• You will collaborate with other disciplines and departments to ensure understanding of project specifications and business needs, and deliver system level results
• You will direct the development, installation, and operation of new hardware and software systems
• You will ensure projects are completed on-time and within the specified budget
The applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for an elevated clearance and access to classified information.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline such as Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience/combined education.

Work or classroom experience with the following:
• Demonstrated ability to identify technical issues, and provide technical recommendations for system issues and anomaly responses
• Authoring technical documents such as procedures, blueprints, etc
• Presenting technical designs and information

This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a US clearance
Desired Skills:
• Experience working with logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, network analyzer, power meter, optical meter, RF/microwave amplifiers, fiber optic transceiver, and LISN device• Possess practical and/or Theoretical Radio Frequency/Electrical Engineering operations and/or maintenance experience within an industrial or commercial environment
• Operational experience with high value, one-of-a-kind electrical RF systems
• Experience in following testing types: evaluation board testing, anechoic chamber testing, shielding effectiveness testing, open/closed loop RF testing, Antenna boresight testing
• Experience in a design, build, test environment (including planning, execution, and technical test documentation)
• Experience in presenting technical information with leadership, teammates, suppliers, vendors, and government customers
• Experience in hardware and RF troubleshooting (both component and system level)
• Working knowledge of RF/antenna engineering, specifically S-parameters, VSWR, antenna reciprocity, antenna factor, radiation pattern, gain response, impedance matching, RF link budget, SAR, RF and power shielding methodology, waveguide technology, and antenna characterization
• Working knowledge of RF and electrical engineering design principles to include Nyquist theorem, DSP, FIR filtering, Hilbert Transform, FFT, power budget, transmission line theory, TE/TM/TEM modes, digital logic gates, Fresnel zone propagation theory, Maxwell's equations, electromagnetic theory
• Practical experience in MATLAB behavioral modeling, PCB layout, hardware simulation in ModelSim and Orcad, VHDL or Verilog, power distribution, fiber optic communication
• Basic knowledge of C/C++, C#, Linux (Fedora, RedHat and Debian) in an embedded environment and Windows (10+)
• Experience with MAXIMO

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
