Job Responsibilities
Description:The Project Engineering Associate Manager leads a team of civil and structural (C/S) subject matter experts (SMEs). The candidate leads the team in converting operational needs into clear requirements and statements of work (SOWs), reviews architect-engineer (A/E) civil and structural designs for compliance, constructability, and maintainability, and resolves sustainment issues to ensure the facility infrastructure remains reliable and mission-ready. The role establishes clear processes and quality gates, serving as the technical authority for program requirements with internal and external stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities
People Leadership
• Oversee hiring and onboarding and manage SME staffing, capacity, and assignments (workforce planning).
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and career development opportunities.
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative culture that encourages open communication and diverse perspectives.
Technical Governance
• Establish standards and quality gates for requirements, SOWs, design reviews, submittals, and requests for information (RFIs); ensure compliance with applicable codes and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) expectations.
• Review A/E civil and structural packages for compliance, constructability, maintainability, life cycle impact, and site constraints.
• Maintain configuration and change control across C/S scope (submittals, RFIs, redlines); verify A/E as built deliverables.
• Delivery & Execution
• Set priorities and scope for C/S requirements, SOWs, and the sustainment backlog in line with mission, budget, and schedule.
• Own team performance and the execution of program milestones and deliverables.
• Incorporate LM Space digital transformation strategies into Weapons System Infrastructure and Capabilities (WSIC) to enable model-based reviews, configuration automation, and analytics for backlog health.
Basic Qualifications:
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Demonstrated leadership in an engineering environment (acting lead, task coordination, mentoring) and readiness to step into first-line people leadership.
• Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating cross-functional efforts that deliver requirements and SOWs for civil and/or structural scope.
• Experience reviewing A/E designs, submittals, and RFIs for code compliance, constructability, maintainability, and site impacts.
• Proven ability to lead troubleshooting and field investigations with cross-functional teams, drive root cause and corrective actions to verified closure, and document results.
• Ability to plan scope and schedules, manage risk, change, and configuration (SOWs, basis of design, design criteria, field test plans, and reports).
• Clear, concise communication with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
Desired Skills:
• Working knowledge of civil and structural codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC, AWS D1.1, and relevant ASTM standards.
• Experience with Milcon design and construction.
• Experience with structural systems and details: concrete, steel, masonry, foundations, anchorage, and coastal wind or seismic detailing.
• Configuration and change control for civil/structural deliverables and approvals (specifications, design criteria, test plans, submittals, RFIs, redlines, as builts).
• Proficiency with planning and documentation tools; ability to review BIM/CAD outputs and models (e.g., Revit, Civil 3D, or AutoCAD).
• Experience supervising exempt staff, including hiring, training, performance assessment, work assignments, and recognition or disciplinary actions.
• Models Full Spectrum Leadership (FSL) behaviors.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
