Are you interested in joining us as an Avionics Engineering Senior Manager leading the US Navy's Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program?

Join us at Lockheed Martin where you will be involved in managing strategic planning, research, design, development, and testing of a variety of electronic equipment and systems for Lockheed Martin Space's Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program nationwide.


YOU SHOULD HAVE:
• Experience being a leader of leaders or leading team of a significant number of direct reports.

• Experience with handling difficult conversations with both employees and stakeholders

• Experience hiring/staffing management and experienced professionals

• Experience with a full product life cycle of electronics hardware - Knowledge of the definition, interpretation, and implementation of design requirements, coordination and execution of hardware designs, development and integration of hardware for both custom and procured electronic assemblies in accordance with all Lockheed Martin Space engineering process specifications

• Ability to understand and troubleshoot enterprise issues that cross technical discipline boundaries

• Attend Design Reviews and Provide Technical Feedback from an Electronics & production Perspective

• Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with peers, customers, executive leadership (both program and functional leadership), senior military/customer counterparts and key stakeholders on a regular basis, providing technical and programmatic updates.

• Ability to multi-task and support of technical investigations and initiatives simultaneously

• If selected, you will be subject to a government security investigation and will need to meet certain eligibility requirements for DOD clearances.


WE NEED YOU TO HAVE:
• At least an undergraduate degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.

• Must have demonstrated experience as a Full Spectrum leader, to include both technical leadership and leadership of personnel.

• Must have previous Integrated Product Team (IPT) leadership experience and demonstrated management responsibilities leading an engineering, subcontract and/or production team.

• Experience executing simultaneously in both a project and technical management role.

• Demonstrated ability to successfully work and manage geographically diverse and dispersed teams.

• A Top Secret clearance is ultimately required for this position, but no clearance is required to start. Certain citizenship eligibility is required for this position and the selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret level clearance throughout the course of employment.

• Must have proven LM Full Spectrum Leadership attributes and skills and demonstrated effective collaboration to arrive at technical and non-technical solutions that support the overall objectives of the organization and the Customer.

• Demonstrated a consistent record of high performance in leadership, with the ability to accept responsibility, exercise authority and be held accountable for assigned tasks.
Desired Skills:
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Successfully demonstrated ability in being a leader of leaders.
• Experience and/or desire to work on strategic enterprise objectives such as roadmaps, knowledge sharing, etc.
• Experience interacting with Navy Strategic Program Office. This includes demonstrated performance in a “partnership” model with Navy customers.
• Ability to motivate a team while embracing diversity and inspiring cultural change.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
• Project Leadership/Management Experience throughout the engineering and product life cycle: scoping, sizing, cost estimation, planning, scheduling, staffing, tracking and earned value management.
• Production experience in a low to medium rate production program.
• Preparation for and participation in major program design reviews (Preliminary Design Review, Customer Design Review, etc…)
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving enterprise technical issues.
• Experience in executive level and customer level presentations. Oral and written communication to successfully facilitate effective and efficient interchanges with employees, coworkers/peers, all levels of leadership, and with customers.
• Proven understanding of electronics standards and processes.
• Current or past Certified Product Engineer assignment with experience in the development and Acceptance Test / Buy-off of end items.
• Ability to communicate how and why a design meets specified requirements both in writing and verbally.
• Demonstrated experience in manufacturing and producibility, Design for Manufacturing (DFM) with applications in electronics manufacturing.
• Demonstrated understanding of integrated master schedule planning activities and earned value
management; Prior Control Account Manager (CAM) experience with a demonstrated ability to handle budget and scope to meet cost and schedule commitments.
• This position requires willingness to work extended hours when the job necessitates the need.
