SI&T Design Liaison serves as the primary in country(Australia) technical liaison on behalf of the USN and LM RMS with the local shipbuilder, LM Australia, Australian Navy and industry partners for the Australian Surface Combatants(ASC) Program. Assists and educates the shipbuilder in meeting and completing shipboard combat system Aegis Weapon System(AWS) and Aegis Combat System(ACS) requirements during design and construction of the Hunter Class Frigates (HCF) and/or the modernized Hobart Class Destroyers (Hobart DDG Mod), collectively referred to as the Australian Surface Combatants (ASC) Program.

The SI&T Design Liaison will participate in meetings involving ship detail design, installation and support issues, and shipbuilder drawing reviews. Coordinate (with the shipbuilder) all on-site engineering meetings to include SI&T, ILS and CSE Technical Working Groups (TWGs), Interface Design Working Groups (IDWGs) and Surface Combatants Design Working Groups (SCDWGs). Adapt existing Aegis internal administrative and technical processes and procedures as required to support the HCF shipbuilding efforts. Revise Hobart Class Integrated Test Team (ITT) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support Hobart DDG Mod efforts. Conduct maintenance and modification of the Aegis Combat System documentation including ship specifications, installation control drawings and various ship schedules. Safeguard that the implementation of the ASC COMSSIC requirements will not adversely impact ACS performance
Basic Qualifications:
ship combat system integration and design experience.

Knowledge of Combat System Ship Interface Criteria(COMMSIC) and Technical Data Packages (cable management, compartment arrangements, topside arrangements, E3, Survivability, Topside and Design/Data Management).

Preferred Prior to assignment in Australia, the SI&T Design Liaison may be required to briefly participate in indoctrination at various Aegis sites and/or shipyards for familiarization with Aegis Base 9.2.3 (A2D, A2F) equipment design, installation, and test procedures

Ability to obtain security clearance
Desired Skills:
Ability to facilitate and provide engineering guidance and coordination during the ship design and installation phases to include (but not limited to) the following:

o ACS/AWS ship design data interpretation

o Liaison Information Transferal Report(LITR) generation and processing

o Ship design and analysis support

o Compartment/equipment/foundation inspections

o General support to ASC in all areas of ship design pertaining to the Aegis Combat System

o Logistics support including equipment inspections and installation
