Description:Lockheed Martin Energy Storage is commercializing a new
class of flow battery technology for low-cost grid-scale energy
storage based on novel aqueous electrolyte solutions. We are
seeking an analytical chemistry professional from the
chemicals, pharmaceutical, or biotech industries to assist in the
careful and verification of a range of flow battery
electrolyte samples. Typical analytical testing will comprise
HPLC, GC, ICP, UV-Vis, viscometry, turbidity, and
conductivity analyses. This role will provide critical chemical
quality information to assist in the development of new battery
electrolyte products, in the development of manufacturing
processes with manufacturing partners, and in the quality
control of commercial electrolyte products. The successful
candidate will interface with a staff of senior analytical
chemists, battery scientists, and chemicals manufacturing
supply chain partners to ensure that the battery electrolyte
under development and in the field meets or exceeds product
specification. The individual must be flexible, able to adapt to
a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, and able to work as a
leader and/or a member of teams and independently.
Basic Qualifications:
•2 years of analytical laboratory experience as a
laboratory technician, analytical chemist, or quality role
supporting commercialization of a chemical, pharmaceutical,
or biotech product.
•Experience with state-of-the-art, quantitative analytical
chemistry techniques such as ICP, HPLC, GC, UV/vis
spectroscopy.
Desired Skills:
•Experience (4+ years) in carrying out high through put
analytical testing to support the development and
commercialization of a chemical, pharmaceutical or biotech
product.
Experience working in a GLP lab setting, following written
procedures, writing SOP’s and maintaining analytical
instruments and equipment to quality standards.
Experience in developing processes to validate analytical
chemistry methods that support product specification.
