Our Life Cycle Support Facility in Ventura is seeking a Project Engineer to support the repair of MK41 Vertical Launching System (VLS). Our team provides MK 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) Logistics Support to the U.S. Navy (USN) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Nations including test and repair of VLS Depot Level Repairable (DLR) Items, installation & checkout (INCO) supply point, engineering and field Service Support. Our current contracts include: VLS Design Agent Contract for VLS Program Office and VLS Fleet Supply Support Performance Based Logistics (PBL) for NAVSUP supporting USN, FMS and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) Users. Repairs of other VLS Line Replaceable Units (LRU) under the Design Agent, PBL, DCS or other contracts may also be supported by this position. This position will be managed out of our MK41 VLS Life Cycle Support Facility (LCSF) located in Ventura, California.

Our team is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual to perform a variety of project engineering activities at our Baltimore facility focused on the repair of MK41 VLS. The primary role of this position is to support the Design Agent program's staff project engineer, located in Ventura, in managing these repairs and may also provide support on several other VLS related projects to completion including cost, schedule and technical management of each task. This includes but is not limited to: Planning, tracking the funding, and ensuring documented completion of tasks; supporting projects through the repair and test cycle; troubleshooting complex repairs in conjunction with repair technicians; set-up, check out, and troubleshooting of test equipment; determining/updating repair and test procedures; packing and shipping of completed units; supporting Lockheed Martin Baltimore (LMB) VLS program office as well as the NAVSEA PMO with research, test and analysis projects; responding to ad hoc customer requests for VLS repair information and status; assisting with proposal and cost estimations for repair and engineering analysis tasks; researching past repair history, cost data, shipments, and site activities to perform trend analysis and report findings; and ensuring that all Technical Instruction tasking, and only Technical Instruction tasking, is performed in support of the Design Agent program. The position will require occasional overtime and week-end work and requires occasional lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 40 lbs.

This position will also require frequent interfacing with USN customer personnel. The selected candidate will need to support regular communications to, and including responding to questions from, both our NAVSEA customer and from the Baltimore office. Hence this position promises significant exposure and future growth opportunities through interactions with multiple levels of management in multiple disciplines including program management, engineering, finance, contracts, and subcontracts management.
Basic Qualifications:
• Ability to read military standard drawings and electrical schematics;
• Experience with design, manufacturing or test of mechanical assemblies;
• Ability to create status charts (Power Point) and present status to internal and external customers
Desired Skills:
• Ability to support, track, and manage multiple projects at a time.
• Experience with design, manufacturing or test of electronic and circuit card assemblies;
• Engineering degree or equivalent experience;
• Strong people and communication skills;
• Good knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software applications (MSWord, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook).
