Description:The Senior Engineering Manager (EM) will have responsibilities that span across the software engineering and infrastructure functions and support all contracts within the TTW Mission Warning and Mission Sustainment program areas. Partnering with Program Management, customers, and cross functional teammates, you will define and execute development and operations strategies that deliver cutting edge, mission critical capabilities. You will build, organize, and mentor a high performing team, prioritize stakeholder road maps, and shape the long term product direction of the software factory and its underlying infrastructure.

Key outcomes include:

• Customer focused delivery – ensure application and infrastructure capabilities meet quality standards, mission requirements, and drive customer satisfaction.
• Strategic product & platform vision – set the roadmap for the software factory, cloud/edge infrastructure, and align with internal partners and external customers while incorporating emerging industry trends.
• Operational excellence – manage domains, schedules, budgets, and staffing across multiple contracts; embed data driven, hypothesis based experimentation into the development and operations culture.
• Leadership & people development – recruit, train, and retain top talent; provide career growth coaching, performance feedback, and functional compliance (ethics, training, etc.).

The role will be subject to a government security investigation and requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Core Responsibilities
• Strategic & Technical Leadership
• Champion Agile, product centric development, continuous improvement, and modern infrastructure as code practices.
• Program Execution: Deliver day to day execution for multiple contracts and customers.
• Align engineering effort with program cost, schedule, and technical approaches.
• Communicate status, risks, and issues clearly to Program Management and stakeholders.
• People Management: Build, staff, and organize software and infrastructure teams; conduct hiring, onboarding, and career development activities.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, data driven decision making, and hypothesis testing.
• Stakeholder & Customer Interface: Partner with external customers and internal partners to capture requirements and validate solutions.
• Support capture activities, on site customer meetings, and new business initiatives.
• Financial & Schedule Management: Own engineering & infrastructure budget, schedule, and metrics; produce BOE and cost estimate documentation.
• Track and report key performance indicators; drive efficiencies across the program.
• Technical Excellence: Oversee design, delivery, and support of classified, (compute, networking, CI/CD pipelines, etc.).
• Resolve cross program staffing and technical challenges.
Basic Qualifications:
• Proven track record leading and managing software and infrastructure engineers
• Ability to solve staffing challenges across diverse, distributed software and infrastructure teams.
• Demonstrated knowledge in planning, tracking, and reporting technical effort, cost, and schedule performance for both development and operations.
Desired Skills:
• Ability to map technology and infrastructure solutions to customer mission objectives and long term product roadmaps.
• Experience establishing Agile frameworks, continuous improvement, and product owner collaboration for both software and platform teams.
• Proven success partnering with internal/external customers to define, deliver, and optimize classified mission applications and supporting infrastructure.
• Experience producing Bill of Estimate documentation and managing program level cost baselines for software and infrastructure spend.
• Broad understanding infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and DevSecOps concepts.
• Track record energizing teams, recruiting top talent, and delivering results while upholding LM’s OneLM culture (Hear & Be Heard, Collaborate to Win, Accelerate Change).

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $157,800 - $278,185. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
