Social & Digital Communications Director

Description:Reporting to the VP of Digital & Media Communications, the director of Digital Communications will plan, execute and manage technology-based communications to include web and social media.

Responsibilities will include:

•Overseeing Lockheed Martin’s external websites, mobile applications and social media properties, with responsibility for content strategy, resource , and performance standards for all owned communications channels;
•Managing the corporation’s Digital Communications team;
•Coordinating web/social outreach and engagement with business areas and functions across the enterprise;
•Driving integration among paid, earned and owned online content in coordination with media relations and functional peers;
•Advising and reporting to the executive suite on best practices, emerging trends and risk mitigation;
•Assessing and reporting website and social media performance metrics and evaluating emerging technology platforms for enterprise use;
•Reviewing and proposing updates to website and social media policy and playbooks;
•Reviewing and benchmarking competitors’ digital and social activity;
•Recommending opportunities to evolve the digital communications program;
•Participating in the and execution of crisis communications.
Basic Qualifications:
•Ability to build effective relationships with all levels including C-suite
•Strategic, critical thinker with experience leading a team
•Excellent writing and communications skills, including knowledge of AP Style
•Experience leading digital communications for a national or global organization
•Extensive knowledge of established and emerging digital and social media platforms
Desired Skills:
•Agile, creative self-starter
•Experience in the aerospace and defense industry, or in
•Minimum of 8-10 years work experience in Communications or related work experience
•Must demonstrate executive presence and full spectrum leadership attributes;
•Ability to handle multiple priorities under deadlines
•Effective project management skills
