Senior Tax Manager

Description:Primarily manages the Corporation’s domestic HQ, MFC and consolidated tax compliance functions. Responsible for all domestic taxes included in LMC’s consolidated tax return, coordination of the international aspects included in the consolidated tax return, with a particular emphasis on Foreign Derived Intangible (FDII). Support the Corporation’s IRS audit by providing support of the Company’s filing positions. Also support the Corporation’s ASC 740 reporting, quarterly financial reports and payments, long range plan, tax provision, and determination of LMC’s uncertain tax benefits. Responsible for coordinating SARBOX, maintenance of tax records, special projects (with a particular focus on domestic and international M&A/JV activity) and for advising regarding , internal programs and activities as they relate to domestic and international tax matters.
Key Functions: Oversee and review the preparation of domestic tax schedules included in LMC’s tax return, including responsibility for the foreign derived intangible deduction. Oversee the coordination of the Foreign Tax Credit, 5471s, 8865s, 8858s, 926 and the International Boycott, which also includes foreign dividends, gross-ups and partnerships.

Assist in the supervision and review of the Corporation’s tax provision under ASC 740 for quarterly and annual financial reports, footnotes and the Long-Range plan. This includes preparation of uncertain tax benefits and coordination of uncertain tax benefits reporting for the various entities.

Support the IRS audit by defending the Corporation’s tax positions with regard to domestic tax matters, including the foreign derived intangible deduction.

Manage special projects(M&A/JVs) including estimating the benefit of tax opportunities.

Administer SARBOX, electronic filing system, manuals and instructions. Participate in subcommittees responsible for testing and reporting on the effectiveness of the Tax Department’s significant internal controls.

Develop tax employees by establishing goals and criteria for completing goals.

Train unit personnel in the completion and submission of tax sensitive financial data.
Basic Qualifications:
- Significant(at least five years) experience with a large - Public Accounting firm
- Extensive problem-solving skills in book and tax accounting and regulations
- Extensive domestic and international corporate tax knowledge
- Experience in M&A (due diligence & modeling) and JV activity (both domestic and international)

- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft applications
Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Continuous learning attitude and willingness to teach others
- Demonstrated effectiveness in leadership imperatives
Desired Skills:
- Prefer a total of 10-20 years broad tax experience
- CPA and/or Masters Degree in Taxation
- Domestic and international partnership tax experience
- Recent Large Accounting firm experience (minimum 5 years and 2+ years in leadership role)
- Experience with 2017 tax reform implementation
- Some experience with indirect taxation (VAT/GST)
- Experience working with multi-national corporations
- Experience with tax systems
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency of financial and tax accounting (i.e. ASC 740)
