Employee Communications Content Strategist

Description:The Content Strategist is a mid-level role on the Employee Communications team with an emphasis on content planning, creation, and management. The content strategist supports the development and execution of enterprise-wide employee communications to support the company’s strategic priorities, shape the employee experience and build the corporate brand. The content strategist should be a creative storyteller who works at both strategic and tactical levels to manage, create, and edit content that addresses the needs of the business across multiple platforms and channels.

Key Tasks:
• Collaborates with leadership, project managers and other team members to formulate and manage integrated content strategies and communications plans
• Manages editorial planning and strategy, driving content ideas to the proper channels and setting appropriate project timelines
• Ensures the implementation of corporate messaging across channels in internal marketing, communications and branding projects to maintain consistency of corporate messaging
• Regularly evaluates communications effectiveness and implements new approaches and strategies to improve engagement
• Considers competing and changing priorities, resources, and time demands to produce plans that are realistic and achievable
• Proactively raises concerns regarding possible project management roadblocks and provides solutions
• Draws on stakeholder understanding to advise business partners on optimal message content and timing for different stakeholder segments
• Writes, edits and proofreads communications content across all channels

Basic Qualifications:
• 6 years of experience working in the Communications field with a Bachelors degree; or 4 years professional experience with a related Masters degree.
• Superior writing, editing and verbal communications skills with the ability to convey highly complex information in clear, compelling ways.
• Excellent strategist with keen creative instincts and expertise influencing leadership thinking in strategic communication and issues management.
• Prior experience planning and developing employee-focused communications.

• Works back from the desired audience reaction to craft simple and clear messages that create an emotional connection with the target audience
• Develops appropriate project plans that support the overall strategic plan of the team and completes projects on time
• Deconstructs desired outcomes to find potential focus areas for Communications
• Prioritizes project plans based on strategic value
• Demonstrates deep understanding of audience perceptions and issues
• Weighs risks and complexity of internal and external factors in guiding and influencing message development
• Builds relationships within and outside the organization to help achieve business goals
