Description:This position supports the VP, Business Development Analysis and three Corporate Strategy Directors at the Corporate Strategy offices at LM Corporate Headquarters in Bethesda, MD.

The Administrative Assistant will manage, with high degree of independence, administrative duties associated with Corporate Strategy planning, event management, engagements, and interactions with other Lockheed Martin organizations and customers, companies, and other institutions outside LM.
This position will ensure the Corporate Strategy leadership team is prepared for strategy engagements.
• External meetings and events: Information passed to appropriate parties for security, facility access, meeting locations, materials to support the meeting, transportation arrangements, and necessary information to be communicated to staff.
• Internal meetings and events: External guest’s information provided to security, materials for meeting developed and provided, logistics and refreshments, and meeting support as necessary.

This position will involve managing travel arrangements, expense reporting, and credit card reconciliation for the VP. The position will require close collaboration with directors, managers and other administrative assistants regarding scheduling of meetings, communications, meeting notices, and the like. This position will maintain the Corporate Strategy master calendar. The individual will create, proofread, and edit diverse strategy materials including, presentation material, correspondence, spreadsheets, reports, and other materials using Power Point, Word, and Excel.

The position requires engagement with leaders, staff, and support personnel within and outside LM. The position therefore requires the ability to interact effectively with senior-level LM executives and customers as well as working-level personnel from across the enterprise. A positive, professional, and action-oriented approach to these engagement is essential.
Given the brisk Corporate Strategy schedule and the pace of daily operations, the position requires proactive anticipation of challenges, a positive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to multi-task. Given the sensitivity of issues and materials associated with the enterprise strategy agenda, the position requires the highest level of confidentiality and discretion.

Effective engagement with LM administrative assistants across the enterprise is a key element of success in this position. The selected individual will have a demonstrated track record of success in engaging and working with other administrative assistants to organize and deliver complex initiatives, schedules, events, and outcomes. The position will require active participation in administrative assistant meetings, activities, etc.

The selected individual will support additional CSBD initiatives and administrative duties as assigned based on functional business needs and administrative support requirements. These include, but are not limited to, planning and preparation for high profile, ELT-level meetings such as the LM Senior Leadership Meeting, the CSBD Global Leadership Conference, the enterprise Strategic Planning Conference, Strategy Forums, etc.

This position requires a positive, self-directed work style to complete tasks with minimal supervision, the ability to leverage technology and LM processes and tools to solve problems, the initiative to think and act independently, with a professional image.
Basic Qualifications:
• Extensive and recent administrative assistant experience supporting executives
• Ability to maintain complicated calendars, work and re-work meeting requests and scheduling.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time with limited supervision.
• Exceptional organization and time management skills.
• Proficient computer skills and an advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of applications (especially PowerPoint and Excel).
• Familiarity with administrative processes and procedures in large, complex organizations.
• Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
Desired Skills:
• Experience supporting LM leaders within and outside Enterprise Operations.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Deep familiarity with LM administrative tasks and systems, especially Concur, budget tracking, LMPurchase to Pay, time recording and management, etc.
• Ability to be a self-starter, thinking and acting with independent initiative to spot and resolve challenges or opportunities.
