Description:
You will be the Senior Quality Engineer for the PAC‑3 Missile and Launcher Evolutionary Development and Transition to Production team. Our team is responsible for delivering cutting‑edge missile and launcher solutions that meet rigorous quality and performance standards.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Senior Quality Engineer you will be responsible for leading quality initiatives across the program, partnering with engineering, manufacturing, subcontracting, program management, suppliers, and the customer to ensure quality objectives are met throughout development, testing, and transition to production.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Implementing and tracking quality requirements, reducing design and process risk, and driving closure of non‑conformance reports.
- Conducting design reviews, Material Review Board activities, and root‑cause investigations while coordinating corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitoring supplier performance, auditing internal and external suppliers for conformance, and supporting supplier‑driven quality requests.
- Providing technical liaison support for quality engineering matters, including flight‑test participation and Earned Value Control Account Management.
- Preparing program presentations for senior leaders and customers, and contributing to strategic quality initiatives.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance. A company‑sponsored interim secret clearance is required to start.
Basic Qualifications:
STEM degree at Bachelors level or above in Engineering from an accredited college in one of the following disciplines: Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering OR equivalent experience/combined education.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Quality engineering experience in developing and reviewing quality requirements, standards, procedures, methods, work instructions, and control plans.
Experience performing Design/Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (D/PFMEA).
Experience in product development, design for manufacturing (DFM), and transition to production.
Demonstrated understanding of procedure compliance assessment, process audit, and product audit techniques.
Ability to interpret drawings and specifications and industry standards.
Understanding of inspection methods for electronic circuit cards and electro-mechanical assemblies.
Experience with control and disposition of non-conforming product (Material Review Board).
Experience leading cross-functional teams for root cause investigation, corrective action, and preventive action using tools like 8D, 5-Why, Fault Tree, PFD, FMEA, Standard Work, Control Plans, etc… and ability to collaboratively solve problems for improving design process, manufacturing process, and business process.
Demonstrated understanding of AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
Experience with performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements.
Experience with supplier quality assurance/control.
Experience working with US Government Department of Defense customers.
Strong project management skills, with demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Effective inclusive interpersonal skills, including team building, risk identification, collaboration, problem solving, and presentations in hybrid working environments (remote and in office).
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Subcontracting, Program Management, Finance, suppliers, customers, and all other stakeholders.
Proficient with Microsoft apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Project, Visio.
Ability to travel up to 25%.
Desired Skills:
STEM degree at Bachelors level or above preferred.
Certifications: ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA), Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, MRBQ.
SAP / ERP and SharePoint experience.
Windchill / Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system experience.
Tableau or other data analytics software experience.
Experience with manufacturing of Electronic Circuit Cards and Electro-Mechanical Assemblies.
Strong familiarity with Production Operations.
Experience with source inspection and surveillance activities at suppliers.
Experience with the use of inspection gages and measuring/testing equipment.
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Earned Value Management System Control Account Manager (EVMS CAM) certification.
Familiar with requirements for handling and control of Government Furnished Equipment/Property.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
