Parachute Rigger / Parachute Maintenance Technician / Alexandria, VA

Job ID: 559353BR Date posted: Jun. 14, 2021 Locations: Alexandria, Virginia Description:Packs, inspects, and assembles multiple standard and non-standard military and commercial personnel and cargo parachute systems. Rigs, inspects, and dispatches cargo airdrop loads from a variety of aircraft. Conducts maintenance on all parachute systems to include sewing, manufacturing, and replacing damaged parts. Performs cyclic maintenance on a variety of life support equipment to include: altimeters (digital and analog), oxygen equipment (consoles, bottles, and masks), and flotation devices. Maintains maintenance history and accountability database (digital and manual) for Unit’s air items. Provides support to air operations such as coordinating with the DZ party and securing transportation and communications assets. Approximate level of skill equals a 92R in the grade of E7-E8. Must meet the standards of USA Class III flight physical and USAF high-altitude physiological chamber test every 5 years. Maintains static line/military free fall jump currency IAW Service regulations. Must be certified as a FAA Master Parachute Rigger and maintain good standing. Maintains active USPA membership with all qualified ratings. Willing to travel for extended periods (up to 140 days annually). Maintains valid state driver’s license and is willing to undergo training and drive vehicles long distances for which a CDL is required.

Basic Qualifications:
Must be certified as a FAA Master Parachute Rigger.
Must possess a USPA D License.
Must meet the standards of USA Class III flight physical and USAF high-altitude physiological chamber test every 5 years.
Must have minimum 8 years’ experience as a U.S. Army or U.S. Marine Corps Parachute Rigger (static line and MFF jumpmaster preferred); verifiable by DD Form 214.
Must provide a copy of the U.S. Army Quartermaster Center & School Parachute Rigger Course certificate for record keeping purposes on first day of employment.
Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
