Description:The Communications Leadership Development Program (CLDP) is a full-time, two-year rotational role that provides diverse communications experience. Immersed in the inner workings of the world's leading aerospace and global security company, you'll develop extensive, career-building communications skills through on-the-job responsibilities, training and leadership development opportunities.

Participants in the program’s internal/external communications track gain broad experience in media relations, marketing communications, employee and executive communications and community relations in preparation for future leadership roles at Lockheed Martin. During the program, participants attend two leadership development conferences and network with leadership development program peers from other functions across Lockheed Martin.

CLDP is highly competitive. Eligible applicants are completing or have completed undergraduate or graduate degrees from leading communications and/or business schools with outstanding communications skills, leadership abilities and practical experience. Early career professionals with less than three years of experience are also encouraged to apply. Possible work locations include, but are not limited to: Bethesda, Maryland; Washington, District of Columbia; Dallas - Fort Worth, Texas; Denver, Colorado; Orlando, Florida; and Moorestown, New Jersey, among others. Possible Business Areas include Enterprise Operations, Rotary and Mission Systems, Aeronautics, Missiles and Fire Control, and Space. Candidates must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate for their rotations and upon program graduation.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or other related majors
• Minimum cumulative GPA 3.5
• Two distinct communications internships, related work experiences or demonstrated leadership experiences
• Strong writing skills (with supporting portfolio of print and digital materials)
• Understanding of the various components of a communications campaign and how to create and execute an integrated communications plan
• Knowledge of and experience using Associated Press (AP) style
• Open to relocation
Desired Skills:
• Social media experience (Ex: LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube)
• Digital marketing, analytics and/or content management experience (Ex: Hubspot, Sprinklr, Google Analytics, Google Keyword, Hootsuite, Leadpages, ActiveCampaign)
• Business acumen (Ex: Finance, Operations)
• Photo and video capture/editing
• Collaboration tool experience (Ex: Slack, Box, Google Hangout, Dropbox)
• Relevant communications leadership experience (Ex: PRSSA or on-campus agency)
• Interpersonal skills, integrity, teamwork, energy and flexibility
