Your Career Search is Important to Us

Lockheed Martin is committed to providing a safe workplace for all employees. Our business is essential to protecting the nation so the health and wellbeing of our employees, partners and candidates is our top priority.

Due to the dynamic situation the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak presents, we are augmenting our recruitment practices by leveraging technology. Below are a few of the ways we plan to stay connected with candidates while keeping our workplace safe.

Q: What procedures do you have in place to maintain the health and safety of your employees?

A: National security never stops and Lockheed Martin plays an essential role in the national security industrial base, supporting the critical missions of our customers in the United States and abroad. We are working directly with and monitoring in real time the steps taken by federal, state and local officials to minimize the spread of COVID-19. We continue to use best practices to mitigate risks and protect the health and well-being of our employees and partners, while ensuring we meet our commitments to national security.

We have implemented a flexible teleworking policy for employees who can continue the essential work required to meet our commitments to the U.S. Government and our key allies around the globe from home. We have established minimum staffing and social distancing policies consistent with current federal guidance for our employees who continue to support national security in our factories and labs. Any employees with potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus are instructed to work remotely and self-quarantine.

Working closely with local health departments, we also identify and inform any employees who interacted with individuals exposed to or diagnosed with COVID-19 while maintaining confidentiality. We ask those employees to stay home and monitor symptoms that may develop.

Our Facilities teams have increased cleaning schedules within all our buildings and campuses across Lockheed Martin, with a high concentration on common areas like lobbies, restrooms, breakrooms and elevators. Upon learning of probable exposure, a contracted professional cleaning and restoration company sanitizes the employee’s workspace, surrounding workspaces, common areas, and entrances and exits throughout the building. This disinfection service meets CDC guidelines.

We also regularly share exposure-prevention protocols to reinforce healthy behaviors.

Q: Are you still hiring? Should I apply now, or postpone my application due to the situation?

A: We will continue our planned recruiting and hiring. Given the requirement for social distancing, Lockheed Martin will deploy virtual technology and other techniques to sustain our hiring activity during this crisis period.

We encourage all candidates to continue to apply and join our Talent Network.

Q: How do I know a Lockheed Martin posting is legitimate? How can I protect myself from employment scams?

A: Our job postings are on all major job boards and many niche job boards. When you apply to a job from one of these boards, you should be redirected to lockheedmartinjobs.com. If you are not, you may be a victim of an employment scam. Please check the URL of the job posting. You can always search for a job on lockheedmartinjobs.com.

If you think you are a victim of an employment scam, please visit the Federal Trade Commission website.

Q: What should I expect during the screening and interview process?

A: Many of our interviews are being held virtually through a video meeting platform and/or by phone. If you are invited to interview with us, we will provide details about what to expect.

Q: Will I need to report to a Lockheed Martin location?

A: We are reviewing the need for each new employee to work on-site at a Lockheed Martin facility on a case-by-case basis. When possible, we are encouraging our employees to work from home and social distance to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

Each of our locations are being cleaned more regularly and workspaces are being set up to practice social distancing for the safety of our employees.

Q: Are you rescheduling the events you cancelled?

A: We are working diligently with our schools, military/veteran organizations and career fair agencies to explore virtual participation in already scheduled events such as technical talks and information sessions. Our goal is to stay strongly connected to our candidates in-light of the current situation. Check out our events page for details.

Q: Can my job be done virtually?

A: We have implemented a flexible teleworking policy for employees who can continue the essential work required to meet our commitments to the U.S. Government and our key allies around the globe from home.

If you accept a position with Lockheed Martin, we will review your role to see if teleworking is an option. If teleworking is not an option, you can be assured that we have established minimum staffing and social distancing policies consistent with current federal guidance for our employees who continue to support national security in our factories and labs.
