Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Greenville, South Carolina

On August 27, 1984, Lockheed Corporation began operations in Greenville, South Carolina, as the Lockheed Aeromod Center, Inc. The decision to have a facility in South Carolina was part of a company strategy to expand the maintenance and modification work that was being performed by Lockheed Aircraft Services in Ontario, California.

Today, the site spans 276 acres and 16 hangars, employs a highly-skilled workforce and is the new home of the F -16 Fighting Falcon production line. Growing South Carolina’s economy. Strengthening global security.

For 35 years, Lockheed Martin has proudly called South Carolina home. Built on a strong legacy of keeping mission-critical assets flying longer, we’ll soon be building the world’s most advanced F -16 fighter jets in Greenville for America’s allies around the world. Now those are deep local roots with a global reach!
