PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Because your growth is our growth.
You will find that we offer a wide variety of professional development opportunities to improve and augment your skills, strengthen your understanding of our core values and enhance trust and networking among leaders throughout our corporation. We invite you to review examples of some of our career development initiatives.

Institute for Leadership Excellence.
This is the core foundation for management development at Lockheed Martin. It is structured into a 5-level core curriculum that is a must for each level of leadership. The goal is to provide participants with a unique understanding of our values, as well as the goals, requisite competencies, teambuilding skills and business acumen appropriate to leadership roles.

Core Programs for Managers Include:
• Executive Leadership Program
• Senior Leadership Development Program
• Management Strategies Program
• Management Fundamentals Program
• Foundations for Leadership Program

Functional Programs for Target Audiences Include:
• Business Management Institute
• Capturing New Business Institute
• Customer Relations Seminar
• Effective Coaching
• Program Management Institute

A better way to recognize your performance.
We have implemented a new Performance Recognition System (PRS) throughout our corporation to encourage more meaningful and frequent interaction between our employees and their leaders. The goal is to provide a common approach to job performance including planning, coaching, feedback, recognition and evaluation.

By implementing the same PRS process across the corporation, we have contributed to our goal of truly becoming one company and one team. This should promote consistency and fairness in connection with competing for the many open opportunities for career growth across the full spectrum of our operations.

Our PRS process involves three phases:
• Expectations setting
• Performance and development discussions
• Assessment and development review

Other opportunities to fuel your success.
Our employees also attend "brown bag lunches" with management and executives, take advantage of internal and external educational opportunities, benefit from coaching and mentoring programs and much more.

Lockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
