Operations Leadership Development Program (OLDP)
Our OLDP is a 2-year rotational program intended to develop successful participants and to enable them to successfully compete for future leadership positions in key areas of our business operations.
The OLDP experience will consist of 4 cross-functional assignments, Technical Development Curriculum (TDC) classes, Leadership Development Conferences (LDCs), and Cross-Functional Business Projects.
Job rotations.
Consist of 3 core assignments and 1 elective — all designed to introduce participants to 4 key areas of a business. The knowledge and experience gained through these 6-month rotations will enhance understanding of how critical business operations – like Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management/Sourcing and Quality – perform and contribute to our success as a company and technology leader.
Technical Development Curriculum (TDC) classes
TDC classes are designed to provide exposure to both managerial and technical skills that traditionally are not part of an academic education.
Attendance at Leadership Development Conferences (LDCs)
Core competencies, interpersonal proficiencies and technical skills are further enhanced through LDCs. Additionally, participants have the opportunity to interact with a mix of participants from other functional areas within the LDP program, including engineering, finance, human resources, information systems and communications. This will help establish a cross-business network of contacts that will grow throughout participant's Lockheed Martin career.
Cross-Functional Business Projects
Special cross-functional business assignments are designed to expose employees to real-world business process improvement opportunities. Projects will involve interfacing with and increasing the participant's working knowledge of various departments across our corporation.
Upon completion of the OLDP
Newly gained training and experience will help participants in applying for career opportunities across the corporation. OLDP graduates are traditionally positioned to be prepared to compete for future key leadership and highly technical consultant roles in manufacturing engineering, materials, quality control, sourcing and shop operations.
Who can participate in the OLDP?
Most of those selected for the program hold degrees in the engineering and business disciplines. To qualify, participants should also possess demonstrated leadership ability, communication skills and related work experience.
Lockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
